Reflections on the 2026 TSEW Summer Convention
We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Summer Convention at Hillscourt in Birmingham was once again a resounding success. We thank everyone who contributed to the event, including all speakers and study group leaders, with special thanks to Patrizia Calzi, who joined us from Italy to deliver the prestigious Blavatsky Lecture. We are also deeply grateful to Jenny Baker, who stepped down this year as Event Organiser after an extraordinary eleven years of hard work, dedication, and steadfast service in running the Summer School/Convention.

TSEW Summer Convention
Not having been to a Summer Convention of the TSEW for a few years, I had almost forgotten what a wonderful experience it is, particularly from the perspective of being amongst lots of people of like mind - that mind being a Theosophical mind of course. It’s so refreshing to be able to discuss matters face to face as opposed to online.
During the four days there were informative study groups, inspiring talks and plenty of opportunities for discussion and sharing ideas. The hotel, which I hadn’t visited before, was ideal, with very comfortable rooms, delicious food (maybe too tempting!), excellent facilities for our talks and studies, and was situated in a lovely setting, making the whole experience feel rather special.
I particularly enjoyed the balance between learning, study, activities such as qigong and meditation, with musical entertainment and fun quiz in the evening. Also, naturally, time to catch up with old friends. One can immerse oneself in the talks and study as much or as little as one wishes, so there was plenty to do, but also time to unwind and enjoy the company and the surroundings.
So, by the time I came home feeling thoroughly nourished, both mentally and physically, I felt the bonus of having had a truly enjoyable holiday. I’m already looking forward to doing it all again next year!
